I never had the pleasure of meeting with Doug’s family but I have known Doug ever since we did our officer training in Gagetown all those years ago.. Even though I was in a different regiment, the Vandoos, our path did cross over the years. I remember Doug coming to our help in some god forsaken place in Guatemala after we had an accident with our vehicle.. I will always remember Doug for his “joie de vivre”, his fortitude and optimism when things were bad and especially for his great smile. He will be miss, Walter
