Douglas Randolph  Eaton
Douglas Randolph Eaton passed away surrounded by family at the Niagara Regional Hospital on the evening of 14 April at the age of 66 due to complications from liver disease.
Major Doug Eaton served in The Royal Canadian Regiment from 1974 until he retired in 1997. Previously he had served as an officer in the Toronto Scottish Regiment before being transferred to the Regular Force and posted to 3rd Battalion. He served in a number of extra regimental appointments, with the Canadian Airborne Regiment, and on operations with NATO and the UN in Europe, Central America and Africa before retiring to take on a number of defence-related entrepreneurial adventures.
While serving with Base Operations at CFB Borden, Doug was awarded the Chief of Defence Staff Commendation for his leadership in recovery operations following the tornado that struck the area in 1985.
Arrangements for his interment in the National Military Cemetery are being made by his family and will be announced later.
He is survived by his wife Mylene, his children Noel (Melodie), James, Stephanie, and Sabrina, his Grandchildren Dillon, Taylor, Joseph, Sabina, and Rowan, his sister Deborah Tennant (Ron), and nephew and niece Douglas and Sarah Tennant.
