HILL, Jean (nee Miller) – In the presence of loving family, Jean peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, just months short of her 100th birthday. Wife of the late Douglas Hill (1977), beloved mother of Don (Lynn), North Vancouver, Gary (Debbie), Waterloo and Jo-Anne (Ian Russell), Toronto. Proud grandmother of Jarrett and Brandon, North Vancouver. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and dear friends who had become family. Jean was a woman of quiet faith that was the foundation of her life. While being a devoted Mother, she tirelessly and selflessly supported the church community by making her famous pies and other delights or dutifully working in the church kitchen. Her wisdom was renowned as was her quick wit that even in the final years of her life, provided endless surprise and joy to family, friends and caregivers. Thank you to the tireless PSW’s and nurses at Heidehof Home for the Aged where Jean was tenderly taken care of for the last 2 years.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St., Niagara Falls, Ontario, on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to commemorate the life of Jean will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, a cause that touched Jean personally as well as many in her family.
