Dave was a fixture here in Kearney. I remember him from early morning newspaper runs. He would show up at any one of the local coffee shops and immediately bless us with a smile and a big hello. He was passionate about his politics and turning the pages of the daily rag would stimulate conversation. He would school us all on past and present ongoings in that world of politics. Him and I had a mutual connection as I lived for many years in the next town from him  (Port Robinson).  I only knew Dave for a few years and he was a fair weather resident here but he was one of my favourite people. I am gonna miss his big smile and his bigger laugh.
