I was Uncle Dave's opening partner for his entire tenure at Ruby Tuesday, and the one who nicknamed him Uncle Dave. We were very close. He always played along with our good natured humor, and i'll tell ya, he worked harder than people half his age and brought a wealth of knowledge from his years of experience in kitchens. When Unc had to take a leave of absence, I was devastated. Not only did I lose my irreplaceable partner, I had lost my friend and father figure. He called weekly for almost 2 years to keep in touch with the crew. I ALWAYS made time to talk to him (even if I didnt have the time, haha)...he really wanted to come back, but dutifully took care of his sick father, a job he never complained about. I will miss his advice, his humor and mostly just the man in general. I hope any pain you had is over now Uncle Dave, I love you, and know you are in a better place.
