Life Story for Charles Edward Scriver

SCRIVER, Charles Edward- Passed peacefully, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in his 80th year. Dearly missed by his best friend and wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Johnson. Loving father of Deanna and Laura. Predeceased by his parents Kathleen Crisp and Henry Roy Scriver. Chuck came from a family of nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sisters, Gloria, Sharon, Kathy and Norma. Predeceased by his first wife, Shirley McGuigan, mother of his two girls. Chuck is also fondly remembered by his two step children, Carolynn and David, and two grandchildren Lee and Haaly. Chuck was the former owner of New York Auto Wreckers, in Toronto. He had many hobbies. Hockey, he travelled Europe playing with the Weston Old Timers. He was president of the E.O.H.A for many years. His other love was his standardbred horses (harness racing). Also, an avid boxing fan, he boxed and also managed some fighters. He had a great voice and sang with the Gems. In our younger years, he used to always sing to me “Here in my Heart is a Story Untold.” Chuck was a tough guy but was never afraid to say he loved you. He will be missed by his family and friends.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Saturday, July 7th, at the Greater Niagara Boat Club, 4649 Lyons Creek Road, Niagara Falls (Chippawa) between 1 & 5 pm. Please bring stories/pictures to pin on our memory board. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Catharines Dialysis Unit or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
