Life Story for Arthur Gordon Fifield

FIFIELD, Arthur Gordon - Arthur Gordon Fifield, 86, of Niagara Falls, Ontario passed away peacefully Sunday, June 3rd, 2018 at the Chartwell Nursing Home in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Arthur was a proud Cape Bretoner from the pier. He was the son of the late Edwin Fifield and Maude (Howell) Fifield. Art worked for many years at Dominion Stores as a butcher and meat manager. To say that Art always enjoyed keeping the workplace fun, is an understatement. During his lifetime, Art enjoyed travelling home during summers to see his family in Cape Breton, fishing, singing his favourite songs, playing cards and keeping family and friends entertained with his heartfelt and playful sense of humour. Like his wife Bernice, he always had a smile and joke for everyone. Arthur is survived by his beloved daughter Lori Fifield who was his partner in crime for 9 years during his illness with Alzheimer’s disease. He is also survived by his cherished grandson William Morrison, his brothers Eddy Fifield, Lennie Fifield, his sisters June Williams and Mildred MacDonald. He will be greatly missed by his sister-in-law Betty as well as many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews in Ontario and Nova Scotia. Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his sisters Dorothy (Dot) Cross and Shirley Joseph.
A private family service to celebrate the life of Arthur will be held at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main St, Niagara Falls, Ontario and private burial will take place at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donation to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
