Condolence: We were very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. For the times I knew Jeff during the good old hockey days, especially working with Jeff in the exciting OMHA Championship team. Jeff truly helped the boys achieve their goal. Jeff will be missed by all. He was a great man and glad I had the chance to know him. Our condolences to the Hughes family. Pete and Mary Senese

Condolence: Jeff and i worked together at RBC for many years. He was one of the most caring co-workers and friends that anyone could ever have. Jeff always put a smile on your face, picked you up when you were down and often gave me the courage to carry on, he would say " come on Margo we have to find a way to help these people out". Jeff truly cared about everyone he met. He was always 'coaching" to help people succeed. I was truly blessed to have him as a part of my life. Jeff Hughes made this world a much better place, for many people. I will treasure the memories of our times working together, volunteering together and the time that we would just talk. He loved his family and led by example. Jeff Hughes has inspired us all to be better people. How I wish he could have stayed with us so much longer. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Everyday in some small way memories of you come my way. I miss you my friend. My deepest sympathies to Nancy, Alysia Cole and all of the Hughes family.

Condolence: I had the privilege of working with Jeff for over 20 years. He was the most down to earth person, always telling his clients to just “ call me Jeff” and that is why so many of them would become friends with him, stopping by his office just to say hi and ask how his day was going.Jeff would always say that all was good even though he most likely was bogged down with work. Jeff was always happy in spite of this and would always say things will work out. If I was having a bad day and if Jeff saw that,he would always say “ Batesy it can’t be that bad “ and proceed to tell me a joke or just say something so funny that my bad mood was quickly changed .He was always smiling and upbeat, passing those good thoughts on to the rest of the staff. He loved to play practical jokes as did I,so we always congratulated each other on our expertise at this. Jeff was truly “ one of the good ones” and the people who knew him or worked with him would definitely say the same thing and will wonder “why Jeff”? ,we are not ready to let him go! Jeff always talked about his family with such love and pride and wanted to be the best husband, father and grandfather and I believe he was. I am honoured to call him my friend. Jeff will be remembered by who he was and how he lived and all of us are better people for having known him. I want to express my condolences to Jeff’s family ,his passing is such a heartbreaking loss to all of you and I do hope that in time the good memories will take away some of your sorrow as his love is with you still.
