Life Story for Alice Gertrude Detlor (Brown)

Alice Gertrude Detlor (Brown)
Detlor, Alice (nee Brown) – It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Alice Detlor on Sunday November 12, 2017 at the age of 92. Alice was the doting wife to Hugh (March 2002) and a loving and caring Mother to Mary Ann Askeland (Steve 2013) and Donald. Dedicated Grandma to Joan, Carolyn and Mark, and Great Grandma to Jamie and Matthew. Alice was the oldest of 7 siblings and leaves behind her brother – Robert Brown (late Bev) brother in law Bruce (late Bessie) and sister in law Mary Helen (late Harold). Predeceased by her siblings Margaret Binkley, Jean Barr, Beverly and Edwin Brown.
Alice had many passions during her life, including sewing, baking, knitting and in her younger years double dutch rope turner – but her family was always the priority.
A special thank you to the Nursing and Recreation staff of Upper Canada Lodge for the care and compassion shown to Alice.
Cremation and a private family interment has taken place. Family will receive friends at MORSE & SON EVENT CENTRE, 5929 Main St, on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 2-4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toronto Sick Kids Hospital or Scouts Canada, 1st Niagara Scouting Group and would be appreciated by the family.
