SMILLIE, James (Jim) - Quietly gone to his heavenly home on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie, at the age of 83, after a brave battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Annette for 35 years. Loving Father of Mel (Melody), Cheryl (Jon), Sharon (late Wolfgang), Daniel (Barbara) and Lynn (Peter). Dear brother of Dianne. Fondly remembered by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. James was an active hockey player with the Chippawa Old Stars, as well as enjoying fishing and an avid outdoorsman.
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St. on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to commemorate Jim’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to either the Canadian Cancer Society or to Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Memorial Fund.
