Good Memories

Some of my most vivid and best memories of my Uncle Jim was when I was about 15 turning 16 years of age and I bought and overpriced and poorly maintained Triumph Bonneville 500 from my older brother Tim. Not knowing how to ridet it, or even in vain trying to get it started, I pushed thr thing over to Uncle Jame's house to get some help!, James loved motorcycles and as he worked on the bike and tried to explain how to get it going, he would regale stories of older triumphs and BSA bikes that had had ridden and worked on when he was a young man. Many times I would return with the old bike and others to get them tuned up and running or to show him what I had learned about the bikes on my own This love of bikes and working on them together gave us something in common that was unique to us. As the years rolled by, I owned many different motorcycles and always came over to show Uncle James my new bike and to get his approval. Of course these visits often ended up with a ride for both of us as I always brought along an extra helmet as he never said no to a ride! Of course there are many other great memories of Uncle James and the Custodio family since I was a small child that are far to numerous to mention, but I thought I would share this one with you as it meant so much to me! I still ride a lot of different motorcycles on a regular basis and I know I will be thinking of him and our times together on my next ride Ride on Unlce James!!!
