WOOD, Margaret Joan (McPhee) - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on April 18, 1944, Joan is survived by her husband John Stuart Wood, children Joanne Badgley (Rennie), Michael Wiebe (Hope), Judy Caperchione (Mark), Zoe Wood of England, John A. Wood (Terrie) of Stittsville, ON and the late Lee Grant Wood and sister-in-law Barbara Whitehead (late Allan) of Fareham, England. Joan cherished the time spent with her wonderful grandchildren Robyn, Teresa, James and Jeremy Badgley, Kendall and Kalyn Caperchione, Cullen Wood, Ronnie Sealey and Whitney Friesman, great grandchildren Billie and Bradley Gilfillan and fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband Frank Wiebe (1987), parents Hilaire “Ellard” McPhee (1986) and Margaret “Peggy” McPhee (1988) and sister Patricia “Pat” Reid (2002).
The family will receive friends at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St. on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be celebrated at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Those who with may make a memorial donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
